Winter Road Trip
We started our journey on Saturday morning with several short stops for errands along the way. We reached the Catskills area early afternoon. Our main activity for the day was going snow tubing at Windham Adventure Park. For $20 per person for a 2hr block, it was a very affordable and fun acitivity. We were well prepared for the snow in our waterproof pants and jacket. Being a beautiful sunny we, the place was quite packed with lots of families. But there was hardly any waiting as you could go down in groups of at most three people. The surrounding snow covered mountains made up a picturesque view. But there was hardly any downtown/village center in the nearby area.
For dinner we headed to Saratoga Springs. Though the downtown area was sparse, most of the restaurants were open and we headed to Wheatfields Restaurant for the second time. I ordered the dish that I've come to regard as my most favorite restaurant meal. Their five cheese ravioli is absolutely delicious. I ordered it again and was proven more right about it. I was very satisfied as we headed to Syracuse to spend the night.
Nest morning, we were greeted with a slight flurry, but we spent most of the afternoon at Syracuse Suds Factory catching up with a friend. Places like Albany & Syracuse which were bustling cities about a 100 years ago now bear mere remanants of those glory days. It was a fun road trip that took us through a big loop around NY state and added more fun memories to our upstate adventures.
